Summary – Having left San Diego for New York City, Ron Burgundy is living the high life with his wife Veronica Corningstone and son Walter Burgundy. However, when the boss decides to promote Veronica to full time lead anchor and fire Ron, everything changes. Now heading back to San Diego, Ron is washed up and working part time at Sea World. His shot at redemption though comes in the form of a man named Freddie Schapp, who's an executive producer at the Global News Network, the world's first 24 hour round the clock news channel. He hires Ron, who proceeds to reunite the news team of Champ, Brick, and Brian, and head back to New York City. While there Ron and his news team are given the graveyard shift and a challenge. Ron comes up with a radical new idea to transform the news and that puts him at the top of the game once again. But how long will Ron's newfound fame last? And will Brick finally find true love?
Storyline – I have to say I was a bit worried about this movie since it’s a sequel, but after watching this film I was surprised how great it really is, when I first watched the first movie back in 2012, I was blown away but I haven’t seen this movie until today three years after the release date, and I was enjoying every moment of it, of course I found the first movie a bit better, but that is the thing with sequels these days the first movie is always better than the next chapter, but I still would recommend this movie to watch with friends or yourself, this movie has a lot of cameos and I liked everyone I won’t ruin it by telling you who’s in it, that is another reason why to watch this movie to find out yourself.
Camera Movements – this movie is filmed and directed in my opinion the best directing I have seen in a comedy, the angles were great, the distances was great, the movements are great, the filming locations have been expanded.
Background – the filming location for this movie is New York and it feels open a bit more open than the last film, that is one of the good things about the movie it feels more open than the last film, the filming sets looked great as well.
Character Development – the character development is great they introduced some new characters and it was handled pretty good, when it comes to introducing new characters in a movie series, it can go two different ways, 1. The characters don’t make much sense, and 2. The characters are great. This movie is a 2, the characters were great, they were funny, and the best part of the movie is the comedy which these characters bring us.
Acting – Will Ferrell defiantly returns to bring us great acting, and his performance as Ron Burgundy is great, he is one of my comedy hero, Christina Applegate the one thing I didn’t really like about this movie is her appearance, the thing is in the first movie her character made sense, but in this one she was only there to help certain events happen, her acting is good, but I found no use for her in this movie with this plot, Paul Rudd his acting in this movie is just as great in the first movie, his character was relevant and the story works great with him in it, Steve Carrell I have to say this is one of my favorite actors when it comes to movies, his character Brick is just as funny as last time, but has been improved with more comedy and a bit more screen time, and he is my favorite character in the film series, his acting is great.
Editing – the editing for this movie is great, the plot makes sense, the film is entertaining, the characters are great, the story works in this atmosphere, the visuals are great, and the lighting is great.
Audio – the soundtrack is great, the sound is great, the audio is great, the soundtrack added greatness to the story, it had that awesome feeling to the scenes.
Visuals – the visuals in this movie is pretty good, the
lighting is good, the visual effects are good, the tone was great, the setting is great, the atmosphere is great.
Direction – this movie is directed by Adam McKay you know the movies that he has directed from the previous Anchorman movie Review, and I still thinks he directed pretty good.
Personal Opinions – in my personal opinion I found this movie pretty good, I was entertained, there was a lot of entertainment to be recognized, and this is a movie that I can recommend to anyone who likes Will Ferrell, or who likes comedies.
Conclusion – for the final verdict I give this movie an 8.5 out of 10, a great comedy.
