Summary – The general public is concerned over having Superman on their planet and letting the "Dark Knight" - Batman - pursue the streets of Gotham. While this is happening, a power-phobic Batman tries to attack Superman, Meanwhile Superman tries to settle on a decision, and Lex Luthor, the criminal mastermind and millionaire, tries to use his own advantages to fight the "Man of Steel".
Storyline – now a lot of people found the theoretical edition a bit confusing, but if you watch the Ultimate Edition there are a few things added to make the story make a bit more sense, and there are a few of these scenes that have been added that I do like the edition that has been added, like Clark Kent doing some digging into the Batman story’s in Gotham, Lois Lane also doing some more digging in the superman incident, but there was only a few seconds extra added to the batman and superman fight, which I found a bit unfortunate cause I was hopping part of the extra 30mins added to the film the fight would be extended and have more depth into it, not an extra 30mins of detective work I would have liked if they put some detective work in and more of the superman, batman fight cause that is what everyone including myself was hoping for, it is the title of the film after all, Batman V Superman not batman v superman fight for 8 mins, and lots of talking and some action every now and then, so after watching this film for the third time, so the big question is Batman V Superman: dawn of justice Ultimate Edition, better than the original release? And my answer to you is, yeah it is the only question is why they didn’t show this in cinemas in the first place, (Warning Plot Spoiler) the scene were Batman dosnt kill superman, the reason isn’t cause there mothers have the same name, it’s because batman realized that he has become the thing he hates and remembers the whole reason that he became the batman in the first place.
Camera Movements – the way this movie is filmed is great, I liked the camera angles, distances, and I liked the filming locations, some places they were behind a green screen but I didn’t find it noticeable throughout the film.
Background – the movie is filmed in USA, and I liked the locations it was nice to see actual locations used to film, the supporting cast, the citizens in Gotham & New York is great, really nice to see, the green screen usage isn’t really that noticeable except Doomsday he was the biggest noticeable CGI dog pile in the film.
Character Development – we all know the origin stories of Batman & Superman, there character development in this movie is changed a bit in this film, especially Lex Luthor his story of hating superman isn’t really explained, and the whole idea of him having hair, I know that those are little points but they are the true origin of superman, like we like the lex luthor in the comics cause he had a solid reason for hating superman he keeps stopping lex from getting his evil mission in hand, in this movie he hates superman for absolutely no reason.
Acting – Ben Affleck’s performance in this film is surprisingly good, I’m not really a big Ben Affleck fan but I really liked him in this movie, at first when I heard that he was cast to be Bruce Wayne/Batman for Batman V Superman to be honest I wasn’t really big on the idea but after walking out of the theater I was surprised of how much I liked the idea of him being batman, Henry Cavill is my favorite Superman I do like Christopher Reeves superman but I personally like Henry Cavill a bit more his performance in the man of steel It was good I liked the idea of his superman, his performance in this movie is as good as it was in the man of steel movie, Amy Adams she plays as Lois Lane now we all know her story she’s the scandal in distress in my opinion she was there so superman had someone to save she plays no big roles in the movie, like if her character wasn’t in the movie the movie wouldn’t be any different, but she was ok in the role, Jessie eisenberg he plays as Lex Luthor and I have to say they could have chosen a better actor for the role I found his role jumpy, stupid, no original material his whole background has been changed it’s like Zach Snyder did all his research on Batman & Superman but skipped Lex Luthor and made him from scratch.
Editing – this movie is well edited the story made a bit more sense, the soundtrack is far the best in a batman movie the same musician from The Dark Knight trilogy, some of the characters was entertaining, not all the characters entertaining (Lex Luthor), I found that the movie is entertaining.
Audio – the soundtrack is far the best that I have ever heard in the batman universe I do personally like the Tim Burton’s Batman theme is still my favorite but I found this one’s main theme is my second favorite, the movies audio recording is also great.
Visuals – the visuals in this film is great, the visual effects is great, the tone of the movie is good it’s dark and vicious, the setting of the movie is great, the lighting is good to, and when there had to be shadows the darkness Is great.
Direction – this movie is directed by Zach Snyder the other movies that he has directed is (Man of Steel, 300, and Sucker Punch) I liked his directing style, his directing with the man of steel is great, this movie has the same feeling to the man of steel.
Personal Opinions – in my personal opinion the movie is not perfect, but I found the story very entertaining, it’s a movie that I can put on a night that I feel like watching a movie for action and awesomeness, I have to say Zach Snyder is one of my favorite Directors, except I didn’t like the 300 movies that he directed I’m not sure it’s not really my type of movie to watch.
Conclusion – for the final verdict I give the movie an 8.1 out of 10, a solid action flick that could have a better Lex Luthor, and a better villain.
