Summary – Damian Wayne is having a hard time coping with his father's "no killing" rule. Meanwhile, Gotham is going through trouble with threats, such as the insane toy maker and the secretive Court of Owls.
Storyline – I found the storyline ok, just like Batman V Superman we only get at least 4 minutes of Batman fighting Robin and it wasn’t really that satisfying in the end, I understand they had to build up the tension of Robin wanting to go against the dark knight, but they did it so slowly and it took pretty much 45 minutes for it to begin and that Is slow in this case cause I wanted more, I’m not sure why they chose to call this film Batman VS Robin when it’s Batman & Robin VS the court of owls, there was no point of calling the movie Batman VS Robin when they only fought in one scene, and not the whole movie, I do admit it is fun watching this movie, but I couldn’t really understand some of the plot points of the film, I found the voice acting pretty good, and I found the animation great, but the motivation of the characters I couldn’t really see what drove them into fighting for 4 minutes.
Camera Movements – the animation in this film is pretty good, it’s dark, it’s gruesome, like the Batman universe is all about, and the action sequences are pretty good, so there is some ups and downs in this film it is good enough to watch.
Background – the character models for this film is good, I liked the look of batman, and nightwings costume looked pretty sweet, robins outfit look alright, the only thing that I didn’t understand about the costume for Robin, he has like fur or something on the top of his cape, and when I search Robin’s outfit on the internet, it doesn’t have any fur on top of the cape, so I’m not sure why they changed the model for the cape.
Character Development – we already know Batman, Robin & Nightwings backgrounds from the first film (The Son of Batman) I learnt a bit more about Robin in this universe in this film the fact is that he was taught by Rash Al Ghoul and he has the warrior’s mind he is hard to break.
Acting – the voice acting in this film is great, Jason O’Mara as the voice of Bruce Wayne/ Batman is great for a movie like this, his voice captures the greatness of Batman, Sean Maher the voice of Nightwing is great I liked his character a lot he has sarcasm and humor, Stuart Allan as the voice of Damian Wayne/Robin is great he captured the voice nicely and he has the right energy for the role.
Editing – this film is edited ok, there was a few scenes you can tell that were cut out cause of a few scenes not adding up, other than that it was pretty good.
Audio – the soundtrack was alright, it was what it needed to be to keep you entertained throughout the film, the fight scenes were pretty well done, the talking scenes were good, and the traveling scenes were great.
Visuals – the animation in this film is great, the lighting was great, the visual effects were great, the tone of the movie is in the right setting of the Batman Universe, and the setting is great for a film like this.
Direction – this movie is directed by Jay Oliver you may know of his other movies like (Batman Bad Blood, Batman Assault on Arkham, The Dark Knight Returns Part 1&2) some of those movies are good in my opinion and I found his directing pretty good.
Personal Opinions – in my personal opinion It’s a movie that you would forget in a few days but when you watch it, it’s a pretty fun ride, and it’s a movie that I would and wouldn’t suggest, if you’re an animated batman fan I would suggest watching Batman Assault On Arkham it’s an animated film of the suicide squad.
Conclusion – for the final verdict I give the film a 7 out of 10, an ok film.
