Summary – Batman faces his ultimate challenge as the mysterious Red Hood takes Gotham City by firestorm. One part vigilante, one part criminal kingpin, Red Hood begins cleaning up Gotham with the efficiency of Batman, but without following the same ethical code. Killing is an option. And when the Joker falls in the balance between the two, hard truths are revealed and old wounds are reopened.
Storyline – this is another film that I really enjoyed, the story is great, the writing is great, this is a great film to admire, it’s a film that I can re watch because of how great the story is, I’ve seen this movie more than any other batman animated film, the story truly is tragic, it’s a movie that I have mixed emotions with, what makes this movie work is the voice actors them self’s, this film shows us another side of batman, sometimes that can be bad or it could be good, in this case it is good, it shows us that he feels that Jason Todd was his biggest Failure, it’s his fault that he was murdered because of him, but we all know it’s truly the jokers twisted game to get to batman, this movie is more than just a story it’s an emotional impact, on the viewers and the fans.
Camera Movements – the animation in this film is great, it is as great as the other films of the animated Batman moves that I have seen, the character models are just great, I like the look of batman in this film, I have seen other batman models and outfits in other animated films and this one is pretty good.
Background – the animation in this film is Phenomenal, it’s a beautiful city, the right tone for Gotham city, it’s dark, gruesome, and the fear is defiantly in the air, the other heroes in this film, like Nightwing is great, his character looked great, the joker he was a bit more dark that I have ever seen him in an animated movie.
Character Development – we all went into this film knowing the batman universe, we all knew what we were going into, this story surprised me, It was based of the comic, a death in the family, and it was told so greatly, this has to be one of my favorite joker story’s ever told in film.
Acting – Jason Greenwood voiced Batman/Bruce Wayne now he isn’t as good as Kevin Conroy in my opinion but I did like his voice acting for the role as batman, he sounded pretty good, I bought his acting, Jensen Ackles did the voice as Jason Todd/ Red Hood, and I have to say I liked his character a lot his character model, his voice, everything about his character I liked a lot, John DiMaggio did the voice as the joker and I liked his acting, he sounded like a good joker in a batman animated film I do like Mark Hamill a bit more but I still liked his acting for his role in the film, I’d say he should do another movie with that voice he has the energy and the voice.
Editing – this film is well edited, the story is the best, the voice acting is the best, the animation is the best, the plot was entertaining, and the overall of the film is great.
Audio –the soundtrack to the film is emotional, especially the death of Jason Todd scene that was heavy in my opinion, then when there were fighting scenes it was great soundtrack covering those scenes, the soundtrack really put the movie together.
Visuals – the visuals in this film is great, the lighting is great, the visual effects are great, the tone of the movie is great, its dark and gruesome exactly what Gotham City is supposed to be and that is what this movie gets right, the setting of the film is great.
Direction – this movie is directed by Brandon Vietti his other movies you may know like (Superman/Doomsday, Scooby Doo and WWE curse of the speed Demon) those movies are great just like this one is.
Personal Opinions – in my personal opinion this is my second most favorite Batman Animated film, the first is Assault on Arkham, but under the red hood has an emotional impact on me.
Conclusion – for the final verdict I give the movie a 9.5 out of 10, great film to watch.
